Mexico City
is the capital city of Mexico and located in the Valley of Mexico also called the Valley of the Damned. The city was originally built by the Aztecs in 1325 on an island of Lake Texcoco and the municipality of Mexico City was established in 1524.
It is the most important center for the financial, economic and cultural events of the country. It has the population around 8,720,916 (year 2005) making it the most populous city in the country.
